Compensation:
  • $150,000 to $210,000 annually

Role Overview:

The Product Manager oversees the product development strategy and execution, ensuring alignment with the company's overall objectives and market demands. Responsible for the development of new hardware and software products, enhancements of existing products and technical solutions based on short-term and long-term needs. They also determine reasonable roadmaps and deadlines for new products and product enhancements considering priority, customer needs, financial limitations, staffing requirements and availability of resources. Develops sales forecasts and implements pricing schedules that provide revenue and margins growth while remaining competitive in the market.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Leads the product lifecycle of innovative software and embedded systems on hardware from concept to launch, including design, development, testing, and post-launch analysis.
  • Ensures the timely delivery of products within the established budget.
  • Works with internal departments to align product development with company goals and market demands.
  • Sets product standards, confirms products meet quality benchmarks and customer expectations, and supervises product testing processes.
  • Conducts market analysis to identify opportunities for new products and enhancements to existing ones including direct customer interface.
  • Identifies risks in the product development process and implements strategies to mitigate product and development issues.
  • Contributes to the success of the company's product portfolio, combining technical knowledge, leadership skills, and business acumen.
  • Coaches sales team and customer service representatives on all technical information and knowledge necessary to communicate with customers.
  • Leads efforts in product promotion & product training seminars and presentations.
  • Develops and maintains product documentation, product instructions and user guides, product metrics and sales and marketing content strategy.
  • Coordinates with designers, developers and testers to create functional specifications.
  • Communicates product improvements to stakeholders and key customers.
  • Moderate travel as appropriate to attend trade shows, technical conferences and symposiums to promote the product, perform team trainings, and engage with customers.
  • Stays current with the latest industry developments, follows best practices in use of source control, and participates in code reviews.
  • Develop & maintain relationships with key clients and key vendors.

Required Qualifications:
  • Educational Background: BS degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Software, or related field).
  • Minimum of 7 years' experience in product development, with a focus on both software and hardware. Experience with embedded systems is essential.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in software development (C/C++, Python, Java, LabVIEW) and hardware design (PCB layout, microcontrollers).
  • Understanding of AI/ML technology and implications related to industry products.

  • Advanced degree preferred

  • Successfully pass background check for cybersecurity access requirements.
  • Project Management: Strong project management skills, including the ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Problem-Solving: Demonstrated ability to identify problems, develop solutions, and implement them effectively.
  • Leadership: Proven leadership abilities, with experience mentoring and developing engineering teams.
  • Adaptability: Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic work environment, with a proactive and flexible approach to challenges.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and teamwork skills Proficiency in Microsoft Office is expected.

Cybersecurity Role Expectations:
  • Candidate will be responsible for reviewing policies and procedures related to cybersecurity and those relevant to the functions of their role.
  • Candidate is expected to maintain a cybersecure work environment.

Physical Requirements:
  • Must be able to sit and stand for extended periods of time.
  • Must be able to make and receive audio and video conference calls.
  • Required to have close visual acuity to perform activities such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading.
  • Must be able to use hands to type, handle products, parts objects, and tools and to navigate computer keyboard and machine controls.
  • Must be able to travel to company R&D facility and perform light-duty work, including the lifting of testing equipment and related components.
  • Must be able to travel to customer sites to perform light duty work, including the lifting of test equipment.
