Role Overview:

Cutsforth is seeking a Senior ERP Systems Administrator to serve as the primary functional administrator and technical owner of Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central and the connected Microsoft Power Platform. This is a strategic, hands-on role responsible for the configuration, workflow automation, integration management, and ongoing optimization of Cutsforth's enterprise resource planning and accounting platform across finance, supply chain, manufacturing, and service operations.

This role is the internal center of excellence for Business Central at Cutsforth — the go-to expert for system architecture decisions, automation design, integration health, and user enablement. The position works in close partnership with the CFO, Controller, Supply Chain Manager, and Inventory Systems Manager, each of whom serves as a functional domain owner. The ERP Systems Administrator owns the platform; the domain owners own their business processes.

  Key Responsibilities:

System Administration & Configuration

  • Own end-to-end Business Central system configuration across all active modules: Finance, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Service Management, and Project Accounting
  • Manage user accounts, permission sets, and security role assignments; maintain least-privilege access discipline; conduct quarterly access audits
  • Administer company setup, posting groups, dimension codes, number series, fiscal period configuration, and multi-currency settings for 23+ country operations
  • Manage the BC administration center: environment management, sandbox provisioning, telemetry monitoring, and support ticket escalation
  • Own the bi-annual Microsoft release wave cycle — evaluate release notes, configure and test in sandbox, coordinate UAT with module owners, and deploy to production with documented change control

Workflow Automation & Business Rules
  • Design, build, and maintain BC native approval workflows across purchase orders, sales orders, journal entries, production orders, and service management
  • Build and maintain Power Automate cloud flows connecting Business Central to Salesforce (CRM/CPQ/Field Service), Microsoft 365, and other business applications
  • Translate business process requirements from Finance, Supply Chain, and Operations into automated workflow rules with appropriate approval routing, exception handling, and audit trails
  • Govern the Power Platform environment: manage DLP policies, connector permissions, flow ownership, and environment strategy
  • Design and maintain automated alerts, notifications, and scheduled jobs (job queue entries) for period-end processes, inventory thresholds, and compliance triggers
Integration Management
  • Own the iPaaS integration layer (Celigo or Rapidi) connecting Salesforce CRM/CPQ/Field Service to Business Central — monitor sync health, manage error queues, resolve failures, and coordinate with the Salesforce admin on cross-system issues
  • Administer the tax engine integration (Avalara or Vertex): manage nexus configuration, product taxability codes, exemption certificates, and coordinate with Finance for audit readiness
  • Manage ISV application administration: revenue recognition module (ASC 606 deferral schedule configuration), subscription/recurring billing engine, and any additional certified AppSource extensions
  • Maintain API credentials, OAuth connections, and service accounts for all BC integrations; enforce rotation schedules and access documentation
  • Serve as primary technical contact with implementation partner, ISV vendors, and Microsoft support
Reporting & Analytics Administration
  • Administer Power BI datasets and data gateways connected to Business Central; manage dataset refresh schedules and workspace permissions
  • Build and maintain financial report layouts, account schedules, and analysis views within Business Central for period-end reporting
  • Support Finance and Operations in creating self-service ad hoc analysis reports; maintain BC's analysis mode configurations
  • Ensure data integrity across all BC subledgers (GL, inventory, AR, AP, fixed assets) through regular reconciliation monitoring and exception reporting
  • User Support, Training & Documentation
  • Serve as Tier 2/3 support escalation point for all BC user issues not resolved by module owners
  • Develop and maintain system documentation: configuration guides, workflow diagrams, user procedures, and integration architecture records
  • Design and deliver role-based training for new users and for existing users when new functionality is deployed
  • Maintain a system change log and configuration changelog for audit and compliance purposes
  • Migration Support (First 12–18 Months)
  • Serve as Cutsforth's internal project manager and technical lead for the Business Central implementation alongside the external implementation partner
  • Lead data migration validation: item master, customer master, open order review, historical GL balances, and chart of accounts mapping
  • Own user acceptance testing (UAT) coordination across all departments; manage the defect log and resolution tracking
  • Build and document go-live runbook; lead cutover execution and first-week hypercare support

Required Qualifications:

  • 7+ years of hands-on experience administering Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central or Dynamics NAV in a production environment
  • Deep functional knowledge of BC Finance module: chart of accounts, posting groups, fixed assets, multi-currency, VAT/tax configuration, period-end close procedures
  • Demonstrated experience building and managing Power Automate cloud flows with the Business Central connector, including approval routing and cross-system automation
  • Experience administering BC in a manufacturing environment: production orders, BOMs, routings, inventory costing methods (FIFO/average/standard), and warehouse management
  • Hands-on experience with BC integration to at least one external system via iPaaS or API (Salesforce, Celigo, MuleSoft, or equivalent preferred)
  • Proven experience managing the BC bi-annual release wave cycle in a production environment
  • Strong understanding of BC permission set architecture, user role design, and security audit practices
  • Experience configuring and administering at least one ISV AppSource extension in a production BC environment

  • Experience with revenue recognition (ASC 606/IFRS 15) module configuration in Business Central
  • Familiarity with Salesforce CRM or CPQ from an integration perspective
  • Experience with Power BI dataset administration and gateway management connected to Business Central
  • Experience participating in a Business Central implementation or migration from a legacy ERP system
  • AL programming language familiarity (ability to read and understand BC extensions, not necessarily write production code)

Other Qualifications:

  • Successfully pass background check for cybersecurity access requirements.

Why are you being asked to complete this form?

We are a federal contractor or subcontractor. The law requires us to provide equal employment opportunity to qualified people with disabilities. We have a goal of having at least 7% of our workers as people with disabilities. The law says we must measure our progress towards this goal. To do this, we must ask applicants and employees if they have a disability or have ever had one. People can become disabled, so we need to ask this question at least every five years.

Completing this form is voluntary, and we hope that you will choose to do so. Your answer is confidential. No one who makes hiring decisions will see it. Your decision to complete the form and your answer will not harm you in any way. If you want to learn more about the law or this form, visit the U.S. Department of Labor’s Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) website at www.dol.gov/ofccp.
